Attested at Lichfield 10 April 1906 aged 18 years 1 month, unmarried,
prior to enlistment he was in the 2nd Volunteer Battalion, North
Staffordshire Regiment. Height 6 feet 1 inch, weight 164lbs, girth
37½ inches, fair complexion, hazel eyes, fair hair, religious
denomination Wesleyan. Army Reserve 10 April 1909, mobilised 5
August 1914. With Expeditionary Force in France 26 July 1915 to
