The War Memorials is made of Portland stone and takes the form of a Celtic Cross mounted on a two stepped base. There are 5 names for World War 1 and two for World War 2.

Edgar James

Corporal 29055, 7th Battalion, Royal Fusiliers. Killed in action 25 May 1918. Born and resident Bramfield, enlisted Bury St Edmunds. Buried at Mesnil Communal Cemetery Extension

KEABLE

Henry

Private 43053, 7th Battalion, Suffolk Regiment. Died 12 October 1916. Commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial

SMITH

Allan Charles

Able Seaman J/1925, HM Submarine G9, Royal Navy. Died 16 September 1917. Aged 25. Son of Ann Smith of Bramfield Street, Halesworth and the late William Smith. Commemorated on the Chatham Naval Memorial. On 9th September 1917, HM Submarine G9 was on patrol in the North Sea searching for a German submarine believed to be in the area. While on the surface, G9 fired a torpedo at what was believed to be a submarine, but was in fact, a British destroyer HMS Paisley. The torpedo missed, but G9 was rammed and sunk by the destroyer

Aircraftman 2nd Class 121052, 10th Training Depot, Royal Air Force. Died 22 January 1919. Buried at Dunkirk Town Cemetery

Corporal 7887830, 1st Royal Tank Regiment, R.A.C. Killed in Tobruk 14 December 1941. Aged 22. Son of Ernest Edward and Anna Maria Lovett, of St. Nicholas, South Elmham, Suffolk. No known grave. Commemorated on ALAMEIN MEMORIAL, Egypt. Column 21.
