World War 1 & 2 - Detailed information
Compiled & Copyright ©
Mick Tilley 2007
Research Andy Pepper 2008

Guildford's memorial is an impressively large arch in a well-tended Garden of Remembrance overlooking the bowling green and adjoining the ancient Norman castle. On the outside pillars are four large panels containing 440 names of those who died in the 1914-18 conflict while the newer central pillar has four smaller panels with 202 names from the 1939-45 conflict.
