PARISH CHURCH WAR MEMORIAL
World War
1 & 2 - Detailed information
Compiled & Copyright © Transcribed and researched Chris Comber,
formatted Martin Paton 2006
There is a memorial
list inside the Church but the main memorial takes the form of a stone
cross with a tapering shaft mounted on a plinth with a two stepped
base, it stands in the Churchyard. The World War 1 inscriptions are
on the sides of the plinth, 24 names. On the shaft of the cross is
a brass plaque that names 4 men who died in World War 2, this has
not as yet been transcribed or researched. A further, handwritten,
scroll inside the church lists the men from World War 1 who died.
There is a further brass plaque which has been fixed to the Church
wall dedicated to a man from World War 2.
