Chiddingly is a village about 12 miles from Bexhill. The war memorial stands in the grounds of the church and the roll of honour hangs within the church.The roll of honour contains the names of those from who served in World War 2.

Gunner 19604, 95th Siege Battery, Royal Garrison Artillery. Died of wounds 26th December 1917. Aged 32. Son of William & Anne Bailey. Husband of Annie Bailey of The Post Office, Willingdon. Born in Lamberhurst, Kent and enlisted in Dover. Included on Willingdon Parish Church War Memorial. Buried in MONT HUON MILITARY CEMETERY, LE TREPORT. Plot VI. Row C. Grave 13A.

Gunner 76266, 150th Rotherham Heavy Battery, Royal Garrison Artillery. Killed in action 16th November 1916. Aged 22. Son of Henry & Elsie Coleman of Chiddingly. Born in Mayfield and enlisted in Chichester. Buried in THISTLE DUMP CEMETERY, HIGH WOOD, LONGUEVAL, Somme, France. Plot/Row/Section F. Grave 3.

Commemorated on LOOS MEMORIAL, Pas de Calais, France. Panel 69 to 73.

Note: On 30 June 1916 the division attacked in the area of Richebourg l'Avoue, where the Sussex Battalions suffered very heavy casualties.

Enlisted Hastings. Son of Mrs. E. Funnell, of Willits Cottage, Muddles Green, Chiddingley, Sussex. Buried in KNIGHTSBRIDGE CEMETERY, MESNIL-MARTINSART. Plot/Row/Section C. Grave 3.
