The memorial is in the form of a large stone tablet (fading rather badly) that is to be found in the porch of Donnington Parish Church (Holy Trinity) bearing the names of 9 men from the first war and 8 from the second.

Sergeant G/978 7th Battalion, Royal Sussex Regiment, 12th Division Killed in action near Arras 25th July 1917. Aged 27. Son of Henry & Ellen Arnell of Pear Tree Cottages Donnington. Born in Hunston and enlisted in Chichester. Included on Chichester City Memorial and Eartham Parish Church. Buried in Monchy British Cemetery

Private G/52561, 4th Battalion, Royal Fusiliers 3rd Division Killed in action 21st March 1917. Born in East Grinstead, and enlisted in Harlesden. Formerly with the Middlesex Regiment. Connection with Donnington unknown. Buried in Faubourg D'Amiens Cemetery, Arras.

Lieutenant, 5th Battalion, Grenadier Guards Killed in action in Italy 25th September 1944. Aged 19. Son of George & Violet Harris of St. Johns Wood, London. Buried in Castiglione South African Cemetery, Italy.

Chief Petty Officer Steward PL/12818, H.M.S. “Galatea”, Royal Navy. One of 470 lost when the Cruiser was torpedoed by U557 off Alexandria on 15th December 1941. Aged 40. Son of Harry and Edith Sait. Husband of Winifred Muad Sait of Donnington. Commemorated on The Portsmouth Naval Memorial, Southsea.
