The memorial is in the form of a stone tablet inside the Parish Church of St. Nicholas and contains 10 names. Not mentioned on the memorial, but commemorated on a stone at the far western end of the churchyard, is (P.O.?) Kim Allen, RAF, who "failed to return ..."

Son of William & Emma Aherne of Tower Holme, Pevensey Bay. Born in Sutton, Surrey and enlisted in London. Resident of Thornton Heath, Surrey. Buried in Alexandria (Hadra) War Memorial Cemetery, Egypt.
