Private G/3451, 9th Battalion, Royal Sussex Regiment. 24th Division. Died of gas poisoning in C.C.S. 18th June 1916. Aged 24. Grandson of Mrs. Marsh of Pycombe Lane, Pycombe. Born in Pycombe & enlisted in Brighton. Buried in Bailleul Communal Cemetery Extension F. 285.

Arthur George

Possibly: Private TF/1146, 1/4th Battalion, Royal Sussex Regiment. 53rd Division. Died of peritonitis in military hospital in Alexandria 23rd September 1915. Son of Frederick & Minnie Cook of Haywards Heath. Born & enlisted in Haywards Heath. Joined T. A. in 1910. Included on Haywards Heath War Memorial & Parish Church. Buried in Alexandria (Chatby) War Memorial Cemetery, Egypt.

Private L/10734, 2nd Battalion, Royal Sussex Regiment. 1st Division. Died of wounds 2nd May 1916. Aged 19. Son of Mr. & Mrs. Richard Funnell of "The Rosary" Blackstone, near Woodmancote Born and enlisted in Brighton. Included on Brighton War Memorial. Buried in Noeux Les Mines Cemetery F. 178

Noble Malcolm Claude

[CWGC spelling Nobel] Lance Corporal. 44941, 2nd Battalion, Lincolnshire Regiment. 21st Division. Killed in action 17th April 1918. Aged 27. Son of Harry & Elizabeth Knight of "Cheeryhurst", Newtimber. Born in Pyecombe & enlisted in Brighton. Formerly with the Royal Sussex Regiment (G/3416). Commemorated on The Tyne Cot Memorial, Belgium MR.30

Private L/17460, 9th Battalion, Royal Fusiliers. 12th Division. Died of wounds 24th June 1918. Age 32 Son of William & Elizabeth Tyler of 8, Church Cottages, Pyecombe. Born in Guildford, Surrey and enlisted in Hurstpierpoint. Formerly G/8277, Royal Sussex Regiment. Buried in Gezaincourt Commual Cemetery Extension F. 169
