The memorial takes the form of a wall-mounted wooden board of varnished wood with black lettering within St. Mary's Church, Stoughton. There are fourteen names listed for World War 1 and one for World War 2.

Stoker 1st. Class K/10233 Royal Navy, H.M.Submarine E 24. Lost when the Submarine was mined off Heligoland on the 27. 3.16. while operating from Harwich. The wreck was raised in 1974 and the remains of the crew interred in Hamburg Cemetery. Son of Edward & Annie Witchell of Up Marden. Born in Haselbury Plucken, Somerset and enlisted in Portsmouth. Walter was 26 years old. Commemorated on The Portsmouth Naval Memorial, Southsea.
