The Uckfield Parish Church War Memorials are to be found within Holy Cross Parish Church and take the form of detailed of a brass m emorial with 92 names for World War 1 with Regiment and rank as indicated and also a carved wooden board with 44 names and initials only for World War 2. There is also and external memorial in the form of a cross of white stone with a sword of sacrifice in relief on front; the cross is set on a tapering column which surmounts plinth; the plinth bears relief of anchor with dates either side of anchor. The whole memorial is set on four-stepped base of stone.

Note: HM Submarine Tetrarch - took passage from Alexandria on 17th October 1941 carrying stores, fuel and personnel to deliver in Malta before leaving the Mediterranean for United Kingdom. Sailing from Malta on 26th she was ordered to carry out a 24 hour patrol of Cavoli Island before taking passage to Gibraltar. Although she made contact with HM Submarine P34 on 27th October 1941 she failed to arrive in Gibraltar by the scheduled date of 2nd November. It is presumed that she struck a mine in a newly laid field off Grantola, Sicily.
