WHITHORN WAR MEMORIAL

This memorial sits at the East–end of the one-way system in the main Street in front of the Post Office. It has a fine granite octagonal base with the first war names on it and the second war names round the top part on small plaques. It is similar to Creetown in shape. It has 70 names on it from WW1 and 9 from WW2. There are 2 names, which are on the Sorbie memorial, 12 from the Isle of Whithorn one and one from Garlieston. The Regiments or units are not given.
