The Axford
war memorial takes the form of a metal tablet on the inside wall of
St Michael’s Church, Axford. There are 13 names listed for World
War 1 and one for World War 2. There is an external memorial in the
grounds of St Michael's Church which takes the form of a cross of
rough-hewn granite set on a tapering plinth that bears the inscription
and names; the plinth is set on a square brick base; there is a relief
of a sword on the head of cross. There are 12 names listed for World
War 1 and one for World War 2. Those names not listed on both memorials
are marked '*'
