BOX WAR MEMORIAL

World War 1 - Roll of Honour with detailed information

The Memorial is situated at the western end of Box village on the junction of the A4, Bath Road, and the A365, Devizes Road. It has eight stone panels, upon one of which is the Dedication. The remaining seven panels contain the names of the fallen and are shown below. The Memorial is surmounted by a cross.

Erected A.D. 1920 by public subscription in ever grateful memory of the men from Box and Ditteridge who during the Great War 1914-18 left all that was dear to them at the call of duty to endure hardships, to face danger and gave their lives for the freedom of the world.
