St David’s Church is a small building located in Comer Gardens, Worcester. The memorial is a framed Roll of Honour on the left wall of the church, opposite the rear door entrance. There is a photograph of each soldier above their details.

Ordinary Seaman, Royal Navy H.M.S. Queen Mary. Service No J/25480. Died aged 19 on 31st May 1916 at Jutland Battle. Son of James and Edith Badger, of 6, East Comer, Worcester. Plymouth Naval Memorial 12.

FAWDRY

Frank

Private, 1st Battalion South Wales Borderers. Service No 11571. Killed at Ypres 30th or 31st October 1914, aged 38. Son of James and Mary E. Fawdry, of 3, Mill Walk, East Comer, Worcester. Served in the South African Campaign. Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial Panel 22.

FREEMAN

George Henry

Warrant Officer Class I (S.S.M.) 259th Depot Unit of Supply Army Service Corps. Service No S2/SR/01451. Died aged 3331 on 15th July 1915 at Gallipoli. Husband of Elizabeth Freeman, of 222, Mottram Rd., Stalybridge. Lancashire Landing Cemetery, Grave A. 47. Also appears on Worcester Guildhall & Worcester Royal Grammar School memorials.

Albert

Private, 2nd Battalion Worcestershire Regiment. Service No 13621. Died aged 19 at Givenchy on 21st September 1915. Son of William Henry and Ellen Maria Hughes, 30 Comer Gardens, Worcester. Guards Cemetery, Windy Corner, Cuinchy, Grave II. D. 9.

SWEETMAN

Alfred George

Probably Albert Edward Sweetman, Lance Corporal, “D” Coy 6th Battalion Duke of Cornwall’s Light Infantry. Service No 8983. Killed in action in France on 18th August 1916 aged 26. (Served as JONES), Son of Alfred and Susan Sweetman, 4 Croydon Villas, Oldbury Rd, Worcester. Native of Kidderminster. Born and resident St John's, Kidderminster, enlisted Worcester. Delville Wood Cemetery, Longueval, Grave XXVII. Q. 4. Also appears on Worcester Guildhall & Worcester St John in Bedwardine memorials.
