The memorial takes the form of a stone Calvary cross mounted on a rounded shaft atop a plinth with a three-stepped base. The inscription and names are to be found around the faces of the plinth. The memorial stands on a bank by the road in Glaisdale, Scarborough, North Yorkshire. It was first unveiled 4 December 1920 by Major General Sir James K Trotter, FCB, CMG.

BONAS	John	[Spelt BOANAS on SDGW & CWGC] Driver 63111, "B" Battery, 112th Brigade. Royal Field Artillery. Killed in action 27 May 1918. Born Glaisdale, enlisted Whitby. No known grave. Commemorated on SOISSONS MEMORIAL, Aisne, France.
CHILD	William James Morrison	Private 36052, 2nd Battalion, Alexandra, Princess of Wales's Own (Yorkshire Regiment). Killed in action 18 Ocotber 1916. Born and enlistd West Hartlepool. No known grave. Commemorated on THIEPVAL MEMORIAL, Somme, France. Pier and Face 3 A and 3 D.
JEFFERSON	James	Private 10067, 2nd Battalion, Alexandra, Princess of Wales's Own (Yorkshire Regiment). Killed in action 10 March 1915. Born Glacedale (sic), enlisted Scraborough, resident Loftus. No known grave. Commemorated on LE TOURET MEMORIAL, Pas de Calais, France. Panel 12.
PEARSON	John	Private 235340, 1/4th Battalion, King's Own (Yorkshire Light Infantry). Died 14 January 1918. Aged 40. Enlisted Glaisdale. Son of Joseph and Hannah Pearson; husband of Alice Pearson, of Glaisdale, Grosmont, Yorks. Buried in MENDINGHEM MILITARY CEMETERY, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium. Plot IX. Row C. Grave 15.
SCANLON	Charles Edward	Private 28222, 5th Battalion, Alexandria, Princss of Wales's Own (Yorkshire Regiment). Killed in action 10 December 1917. Aged 30. Born Hartlepool, enlisted Leiholme, resident Glaisdale. Husband of Jane Scanlon, of 20, Garnet Terrace, Leeman Rd., York. Buried in BRANDHOEK NEW MILITARY CEMETERY NO. 3, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium. Plot I. Row N. Grave 17.
SCARTH	Francis Robert	Private 36298, 4th Special Reserve Battalion, South Staffordshire. Died in United Kingdom 9 March 1917. Aged 18. Born and resident Glaisdale, enlisted Whitby. Son of Isaac and Margaret Scarth, of Red House Cottage, Glaisdale. Buried near south-east corner in ST. THOMAS CHURCHYARD, GLAISDALE, Yorkshire.

WARD	William	Private 21707, 3rd Battalion, Coldstream Guards. Died 13 April 1918. Born and resident Glaisdale, enlisted Whitby. No known grave. Commemorated on PLOEGSTEERT MEMORIAL, Hainaut, Belgium. Panel 1.

WINSPEAR	Harry	Private 426816. 13th Battalion, Canadian Infantry (Quebec Regiment). Born Glaisdale, Yorks 18th October 1890 and died 4th September 1916. Son of James and Alice Winspear. Brother of Pennock Winspear. Commemorated Vimy Memorial.
WINSPEAR	Pennock	Born Glaisdale, Yorks 1889, the son of James and Alice Winspear. Present Glaisdale 1891 and 1901 census but unable to identify as casualty and no further information currently.
Known Glaisdale connection – NOT on memorial.
ATKINSON	John	Private 17703. 2/4th Battalion, West Riding Regiment. Killed in action 20th November 1917. Born Glaisdale, enlisted Saltburn and resident Boosbeck, Yorks. Commemorated Cambrai Memorial. Panel 6 and 7.
LIGHT	John Yeoman	Lance Corporal 471423. 222nd Field Company, Royal Engineers. Killed in action 14th April 1918, aged 31 years. Son of Thomas Light of Glebe Farm, Lealholm, Yorks. Husband of Edith Light of Waites House, Goathland, Yorks. Born Glaisdale and enlisted Northallerton, Yorks. Commemorated Tyne Cot Memorial. Panel 8 and 162.
LONSDALE	James Robinson	Private G/13980. 8th Battalion, Buffs (East Kent Regiment). Died of wounds 2nd August 1917, aged 19 years. Son of Thomas William and Mary Ann Lonsdale of Fryup End, Lealholm, Yorks. Born Glaisdale, enlisted Whitby and resident Lealholm, Yorks. Commemorated Lijssenthoek Military Cemetery. XVII.C.18A.
