Alexander was seriously wounded and honourably discharged from the
Ayrshire Yeomanry as unfit for further active service in 1915. He
died of pneumonia in 1953 at Kilmarnock Infirmary. His life was
spent in agriculture and horticulture. His wife was Catherine Savage
and their last address together was Lealoan Cottage Darvel, Ayrshire.
