| HOBBS | Charles Horatio | Private 7233, 1st Buckinghamshire Volunteers, Oxfordshire Light Infantry. Died of enteric fever at Kroonstad, South Africa, 4 July 1900. Aged 25. Baptised 25 April 1875, son of Henry (a Drill Sergeant) and Hannah Hobbs, resident Eton Wick, Eton, Buckinghamshire. Attested at Oxford 19 January 1900, aged 25 years 1 month, civilian occupation Tailor, single, height 5 feet 4¾ inches, chest 33-35 inches. fresh complexion, hazel eyes, brown hair, religious denomination Church of England.
