SOHAM GRAMMAR SCHOOL WAR MEMORIAL
World
War 1 - Roll of Honour with detailed information
Compiled and copyright © Michael Rouse - 2001
The
memorial tablet is in the front porch of Beechurst, which became the
Soham Grammar School in 1925. The memorial would have been moved from
the former premises in the centre of Soham. It is grey marble on a black
marble background. The Grammar School crest is carved at the top. The
Old Boys' who died in the Second World War are commemorated in a Book
of Remembrance.
The
sad footnote is that Beechurst was built by Charles and Annie Morbey
in 1900. It is their son, Charles Frederick William Morbey, whose name
is recorded on the memorial in what was his former home.

more details about Soham Grammar School see the Soham
Grammarians website.
