The
Llansannan war memorial is to be found outside the Alms Houses at the
junction of the A544 and Gogor Road. It takes the form of a base surmounted
by a tall pedestal, a plinth and an obelisk with the inscription on
tablets set into the sides of the pedestal and on the front face of
the base of the plinth. There is an additional inscription on a tablet
on the wall behind the memorial. There is a red painted dragon, gold
painted cross and white painted feathers within a gold crown at the
top of the front tablet. The memorial was unveiled 2nd March 1922. There
are 108 names listed. There are 11 names for those who died in World
War 1 and eight for those who died in World War 2, two of these have
not been transcribed. Details of where each man lived is also listed.
The names of those who served are also listed.
