WAR MEMORIALS
World
War 1 & 2 - Detailed Information
Compiled and copyright © John Simmons 2007
The
Crondall war memorial can be found outside All Saints Church, Crondall.
It takes the form of a cross-shaped plinth surmounted by tapering shaft
and cross with the inscription in black lettering on the sides of the
plinth. The whole stands on a crazy paved base. There are 47 names from
World War 1 and 8 for World War 2. The memorial was unveiled on 25th
July 1920 by Major-General E G F Bainbridge and the masons were S Mardles
and Sons.
