The stone memorial is a raised cross standing on a shaft surmounting
a square plinth at the junction of the B3349 Alton Road and Lees Hill.
The names of those commemorated from World War One are inscribed on
the side of the plinth which faces Alton Road and the World War Two
names have been added on the side which faces Lees Hill.
St Andrew’s
church, South Warnborough contains a handwritten ‘Roll of
Honour’ headed ‘For King & Country’
which lists men from the parish who served in World War One with a small
red cross against the names of those who died. The chapel of St George
in the church is dedicated to ‘those who served their country
1939 – 1945’ and a plaque bears the names of the two
South Warnborough men who died in that war.
