The stone memorial is a raised cross standing on a shaft surmounting a square plinth at the junction of the B3349 Alton Road and Lees Hill. The names of those commemorated from World War One are inscribed on the side of the plinth which faces Alton Road and the World War Two names have been added on the side which faces Lees Hill.

St Andrew’s church, South Warnborough contains a handwritten ‘Roll of Honour’ headed ‘For King & Country’ which lists men from the parish who served in World War One with a small red cross against the names of those who died. The chapel of St George in the church is dedicated to ‘those who served their country 1939 – 1945’ and a plaque bears the names of the two South Warnborough men who died in that war.

CARTER	Walter	[Wortly on church memorial] Lance Corporal No. '5960' 1st Bn. Hampshire Regiment. Died 15/05/1915 Age 30. Son of the late William and Alice Carter of 33 George Street, Reading. Commemorated Boulogne Eastern Cemetery VIII. D. 5.
CATLEY	George William	Corporal No. 'G/36722' Queen's Own (Royal West Kent Regiment). Formerly No. 'S4/094371' Army Service Corps and No. '92245' of the 2nd Bn and No. 'G/36722' of the 20th Bn City of London Regiment (Royal Fusiliers). Died 02/09/1918 Age 27. Resident of South Warnborough and son of Mary 'Polly' Catley of The Moor, Melbourne, Cambridgeshire. Commemorated Bac-Du-Sud British Cemetery, Bailleulval II. F. 25. Also commemorated on the Melbourne, Cambridgeshire war memorials.
CHILDS	James	Private No. '14493' 2nd Bn. Hampshire Regiment. Died 21/06/1915 Age 42. Son of the late James Childs and Ellen Gregory (nee Childs) of South Warnborough. Half brother of Reginald and Victor Gregory whose names are also on this memorial. Commemorated Pink Farm Cemetery, Helles Sp. Mem. 132.
DOUGLAS	David William Shafto	ieut-Commander H.M.S. "Black Prince Royal Navy. Died 31/05/1916 Age 32. Son of Admiral Sir Archibald Douglas and of Lady Constance Douglas, and brother of John whose name is also on this memorial. Commemorated Portsmouth Naval Memorial 11.
DOUGLAS	John Charles Edward	Major 10th Bn. Yorkshire Regiment. Died 18/12/1915 Age 39. Son of Admiral Sir Archibald Douglas and of Lady Constance Douglas, and brother of David whose name is also on this memorial. Barrister, Gray's Inn. Commemorated Bailleul Communal Cemetery Extension, Nord II. B. 64.
GREGORY	Reginald George	Sergeant No. '7442' 2nd Bn. Hampshire Regiment. Died 08/11/1916 Age 34. Son of Giles Gregory and Ellen Gregory (nee Childs) of South Warnborough, Hants. Brother of Victor Gregory and half brother of James Childs whose names are also on this memorial. Commemorated Etaples Military Cemetery XII. C. 1.
GREGORY	Victor Charles	Private No. 'PO/13458' 2nd R. M. Bn. Royal Naval Division, Royal Marine Light Infantry. Died 28/04/1917 Age 31. Son of Giles Gregory and Ellen Gregory (nee Childs) of South Warnborough, Hants. Brother of Reginald Gregory and half brother of James Childs whose names are also on this memorial. Commemorated Arras Memorial Bay 1.
HARRISON	Cecil Dyne	Corporal No. '75085' 4th Canadian Div. Signal Coy. Canadian Engineers. Died 27/06/1918 as the result of an accident in a boxing tournament whilst serving as an RAF Cadet. Age 26. Son of Francis Edgar and Lylie K Harrison of 742 Bidwell Street, Vancouver, British Columbia. Born At Winnipeg, Manitoba. Commemorated Denham (St. Mary) Churchyard Special Memorial.
LUCAS	Wilfred	Private No. '40849' 1st/6th Bn. Hampshire Regiment. Died 08/07/1919 Age 23. Son of Philip and Jane Lucas of South Warnborough, Hants. Buried Nowshera Military Cemetery L. 40. Commemorated Delhi Memorial (India Gate) Face 23.
POND	George	Private No. '2000' 2nd/4th Bn. Hampshire Regiment. Died 17/12/1915 Age 25. Son of James and Emily Pond of Alton and husband of Gertrude Keal (formerly Pond) of Allerford, Taunton, Somerset. Buried Quetta Government Cemetery 2268. Commemorated Delhi Memorial (India Gate) Face 23.
ROE	Albert John	Private No. '2259' 22nd Bn. Royal Fusiliers (City of London Regiment). Died 14/11/1916 Age 25. Formerly No. 'GS/19000' 5th Dragoon Guards. Son of Francis and Annie Roe of Rooks Cottage, Rotherwick, Basingstoke, Hants formerly of New Farm, South Warnborough. Commemorated Thiepval Memorial Pier and Face 8 C 9 A and 16 A.
WILD	James	Lance Corporal No. '8201' 2nd Bn. Dorsetshire Regiment. Died 14/04/1915 in action near Shaibah, Iraq. Age 25. Son of George and Annie Wild of Wells Hill Farm, South Warnborough and brother of John whose name is also on this memorial. Commemorated Basra War Cemetery III. C. 9.

HANBURY-TRACY	Michael David Charles	Captain No. '41157' 1st Bn. Scots Guards. Died 22/08/1940 Age 31. Son of the Hon. Felix and Madelaine Hanbury-Tracy and husband of Colline Hanbury-Tracy (nee St. Hill) of St. Foeck, Cornwall. His father fell in the 1914-1918 War. Commemorated Toddington (St. Andrew) churchyard S.E. of church.
