This memorial can be found at Doctors Pool (a small patch of common) in the village of Staunton on Wye. It commemorates those who died in both world wars. It takes the form of a plain column surmounted by an orb standing on a rough-hewn, square, plinth with the commemoration on metal plates attached to three sides of this; the whole stands in a paved area. There are fourteen names listed for World War 1 and four for World War 2. The names here have been sorted into alphabetical order withn conflict for ease of reading and research.

BAKER	Reginald [Charles]	Private 3715, 3rd/1st Battalion, Herefordshire Regiment. Died in United Kingdom 2 February 1916. Born and resident Staunton-On-Wye, Herefordshire, enlisted Hereford. Buried in STAUNTON-ON-WYE (ST. MARY) CHURCHYARD, Herefordshire. Row D. Grave 6.
BETHELL	John	Private 24799, 2nd Battalion, King's (Shropshire Light Infantry). Killed in action in Salonika 13 April 1917. Aged 39. Born and resident Staunton-On-Wye, Herefordshire, enlisted Hereford. Son of John and Ellen Bethell, of Staunton-on-Wye, Herefordshire; husband of Gertrude Florence Bethell, of Yew Tree Cottage, Staunton. Buried in MIKRA BRITISH CEMETERY, KALAMARIA, Greece. Grave 1966.
GLADWYN	William	Private 203616 [CWGC] or 203010 [SDGW], 1st/5th Battalion (Territorial), Gloucestershire Regiment formerly 1390, Royal Army Service Corps. Killed in action 10 August 1917. Born Fownhope, Herefordshire, enlisted Hereford. No known grave. Commemorated on TYNE COT MEMORIAL, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium. Panel 72 to 75.
HICKS	Thomas	Private 27845, 1st Battalion, Border Regiment formerly 4364, Herfordshire Regiment. Killed in action 11 April 1918. Aged 24. Resident Staunton-On-Wye, Herefordshire, enlisted Hereford. Son of Thomas and Elizabeth Hicks, of Staunton-on-Wye, Hereford. No known grave. Commemorated on PLOEGSTEERT MEMORIAL, Hainaut, Belgium. Panel 6.
JAMES	[William] Thomas	Private 28257, 11th Battalion, South Wales Borderers. Died of wounds 16 February 1917. Aged 24. Born Radnor, resident Stourton-On-Wye, Herefordshire, enlisted Brecon. Son of Thomas and Mary Ann James, of World's End, Staunton-on-Wye, Hereford. Buried in MENDINGHEM MILITARY CEMETERY, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium. Plot II. Row A. Grave 12.
