ILOTT William Bertie
Private 27526, 4th Battalion, Bedfordshire Regiment. Killed in action 30 October 1917. Born Bengeo, Herts, enlisted Bedford, resident Hertford. No known grave. Commemorated on TYNE COT MEMORIAL, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium. Panel 48 to 50 and 162A.
IMPEY Frederick Charles
Sergeant PLY/7898, Plymouth Battalion, Royal Naval Division, Royal Marine Light Infantry. Died of wounds in Hospital Malta 13 July 1915. Aged 36. Baptised 10 November 1878 at All Aints & St John, hertford, son of Alfred and Sarah Ann Impey. Brother of Mrs C. Sinclair. Awarded the China Medal 1900 without clasp (serving with HMS Undaunted) issued 22 June 1902; Royal Navy Long Service & Good Conduct Medal 3 October 1915; enlisted 9 March 1896; with Deal Battalion at Dunkirk & Defence of Antwerp 1914; with the Mesopotamian Expeditionary Force 2 February 1915 until his death. Buried in MALTA (CAPUCCINI) NAVAL CEMETERY, Malta. Protestant Grave 258.
IZZARD Francis George
Private 16506, 1st Battalion, Bedfordshire Regiment. Killed in action 21 April 1915. Aged 23. Born, resident and enlisted Hertford. Son of Harriett Izzard, of 25, Raynham St., Hertford. No known grave. Commemorated on YPRES (MENIN GATE) MEMORIAL, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium. Panel 31 and 33.
