The Memorial takes the form of a stone plaque inside
St Michael's church, Great Gidding. In addition there are two full lists
of all who served. The Great War list includes 36 names, including four
which are included on the Memorial (Babbage, Clamp, Glover H and Yeomans).
The WW2 list shows 37 names of whom 2 feature on the Memorial.

Killed in action on Wednesday, 25th October 1916. Aged 32. Born
Workingham, Berks, 06th November 1883. Son of William Babbage
and the late Mrs Babbage of Great Gidding, Peterborough, Cambs.
Husband of Joan Duncan Renton Babbage, of 39, Bruntsfield Place,
Edinburgh, Scotland and 88, Great Portland Street, London. Commemorated
on the Vimy Memorial. |

[Also
spelt Lawrence] Corporal 204077, 7th Battalion, Queen's Own (Royal
West Kent Regiment). Killed in action 23rd or 224th August 1918
in France & Flanders. Age 27. Born Walsham-le-Willows, Suffolk,
enlisted New Cross, Kent, resident Blackheath, London, S.E. Son
of William and Alice Clamp, of Walsham-le-Willows, Suffolk; husband
of Beatrice Alice Clamp, of 72, High St., Ramsgate. Formerly 1187,
London Regiment. Appears in "The National Union of Teachers
War Record" published by Hamilton House in 1920 - page 66
- states "Peterborough Association NUT, Clamp, Laurence Pearson,
Corporal, R.W. Kent Regiment, Teacher at Great Gidding School".
Buried in BECOURT MILITARY CEMETERY, BECORDEL-BECOURT, Somme,
