Miller was a Indian Civil servant. Godfrey's father privately
published a his son's diary after his death. There is a mention
in it of being at Eastry in 1902. Buried in Vailly British Cemetery,

exercising in the Yellow Sea (20 miles north of her home base
of Wei Hai Wei) when the steamer Yuta was spotted some distance
away. Despite excellent visibility the two vessels collided and
the submarine sank in about 15 fathoms within two minutes. |
