FARRELL Gilbert Valentine
Gilbert was a Major (#107625) with the Pioneer Corps. He had been a resident of Littlethorpe, Forest Rd., Tunbridge Wells. He died at age 50 August 11, 1942. He is recorded on the Screen Wall, Hull, Northern Cemetery.
FAYERS Ronald Charles
Ronald was a Flight Sergeant (#1245828) with the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve who died January 2, 1945.. His name is on a plaque at Skinners School. He is recorded at the Runnymede Cemetery (Panel 270). He was the son of Herbert and Emily Fayers and the husband of Joan Scott Fayers of Round Bush, Hertfordshire. He is also recorded on the plaque at St James Church, Tunbridge Wells. He was a resident of 92 St James Park, Tunbridge Wells.
FENN Gordon Richmond
He was a Private (#14384297) with the Royal Army Ordinance Corp who at the age of 21 died September 13, 1945. He had been a resident of 33 London Rd., Tunbridge Wells. He is recorded at the Colombo (Livermenta) Cemetery (3. F. 10).
FOOT Aubrey Maxwell
He was a Sub Lieut. with the Royal Navy Volunteer Reserve who died at the age of 25 October 15, 1943.. He had resided at The Beeches, Camden Park, Tunbridge Wells. He is recorded at the Portsmouth Naval Memorial (Panel 80, column 1). His unit was the H. M. M. T. B. 636. He was the son of Aubrey William and Marian Foot.
FOWKE John Lionel
John was a Wing Commander (#73957) with the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve. He had been a resident of 3 St John’s Park, Tunbridge Wells. He was buried in the Tunbridge Wells Cemetery October 6, 1945 (Cons. Sec 11A, grave 77). His name is on a plaque at Skinners School. He died at the age of 36 October 1, 1945. He had formerly been a Lt. Supplementary Reserve Officer. He was the son of Thomas Lionel and Rhoda E. Fowke and the husband of Louie Fowke of Tunbridge Wells. He had a B. Sc. Honours (London) and was awarded the Arnott Bronze Medal for Physics in 1928.
FULLER WRIGHT Eric Herbert Fuller
He was a Sub Lieut. (A) with the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve, Fleet Air Arm. He had been a resident of 48 Woodbury Park Rd., Tunbridge Wells. He died at the age of 22 February 12, 1942. He is recorded at the Lee-on-Solent Memorial (Bay 4, panel 2). His unit was M. N. S. Daedalus and was mentioned in despatches. He was the son of Albert Ernest Fuller and Marjorie Doris Wright of Tunbridge Wells. Eric had a B. A. (Oxon).
FUNNELL Frederick George
Frederick was a Private (#6343102) with the Queens Own Royal West Kent Regiment, 4th Battalion, who at the age of 25 died in France May 26, 1940. He is recorded at the Le Grand Hasard Military Cemetery (5. C. 7). He was the son of Percival William and Rose Funnell of Tunbridge Wells and the husband of Mary Helen Funnell of Tunbridge Wells. On addition to the Tunbridge Wells Memorial his name appears at the Southborough Memorial and on plaques at the High Brooms Church and the High Brooms School. He was born 1915 in Tunbridge Wells.
