an old postcard |
This
war memorial is from Mill Hill Congregational, Blackburn. From a card
index in Blackburn Library of WW1 deaths several on the memorial had
connection with this church; also in cuttings found and article written
in 1921 about the church includes reference to an impressive black and
white marble tablet erected on the west wall in 1920 with names of dead
from the Church and Sunday School. Unfortunately the church was demolished
in 1965. The whereabouts of this memorial are currently unknown. For
the Blackburn Town Roll of Honour see the Blackburn
Council site.
