name for his mother in the census. In the 1901 census he was aged
6, born Manchester, son of William Henry and Elizabeth Fallowfield,
resident 38, Moston Lane, North Manchester, Prestwich, Lancashire.
In the 1911 census he was aged 16, born Manchester, an Apprentice
To Making Up, son of William Henry and Elizabeth Fallowfield,
resident 76, Rochdale Road, Blackley Manchester, North Manchester,
Lancashire. Buried in CORBIE COMMUNAL CEMETERY, Somme, France.

Wesleyan. Joined at Edinburgh 9 October 1914, assigned to 15th Battalion.
Admitted to 2nd Western General Hospital, Manchester, 8 January
1917 with influenza, discharged 23 March 1917. Suffered from Myalgia
throughout 1917, admitted to hospital, rejoined Battlalion 26 May
1917. No known grave. Commemorated on TYNE COT MEMORIAL, West-Vlaanderen,

in action on September 15, 1916, Private ALFRED EDMUND FORSHAW
(80252), Canadian Infantry, age 31, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs.
Forshaw, 6, Hill Lane, Blackley. Deeply mourned by all his FAMILY,
and BROTHERS, BROTHERS-IN-LAW, and NEPHEWS (all serving their
country). He heard the call afar off, and gladly answered.
