IBBERSON Henry Joseph
Second Lieutenant, 220th Company, Machine Gun Corps (Infantry). Killed in action 5 October 1917. Born 1898 as an Armed Forces Child. In the 1911 census he was aged 12, born Lancaster, a student, son of Henry and Mary Jane Ibberson, resident 1, Cambridge Road, Blackley, Manchester, North Manchester, Lancashire. Commemorated on Mather and Platt Ltd., Manchester. Buried in BUTTES NEW BRITISH CEMETERY, POLYGON WOOD, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium. Special Memorial Plot XII. Row AA. Grave 15.

Private 352567, 1st/3rd Northumbrian Field Ambulance, Royal Army Medical Corps (Territorial Force.) Died of wounds 27 May 1918. Aged 28. Born 30 March 1890, and resident, Blackley, Lancs, enlisted Manchester, Lancs. In the 1891 census he was aged 1, born Blackley, son of John and Mary J Ingham, resident Hamer Hill, Blackley, Prestwich, Lancashire. Son of John and Mary Jane Ingham, of 23, Exchange St., Blackley, Manchester. Admitted to Blackley St Peter Church of England School (Infants), Gorton, Manchester 21 May 1895, son of John, resident No. 2 Chapel Lane, transferred to Boys School 15 February 1897. Admitted to Blackley St Peter Church of England School, Gorton, Manchester 15 February 1897, resident 81, Chapel Lane, Blackley, removed 17 July 1903 to Higher Grades. In the 1901 census he was aged 11, born Blackley, son of John and Mary Ingham, resident 81, Chapel Lane, North Manchester, Prestwich, Lancashire. In the 1911 census he was aged 21, born Blackley, a Chemist's Clerk, son of Mary Jane Ingham (a widow), resident 23, Exchange Street, Blackley, North Manchester, Lancashire. Private 53199, 2nd Battalion, Manchester Regiment formerly 71520, The King's (Liverpool Regiment). Died of wounds 22 May 1918. Born 29 October 1882 in Blackley, Manchester, enlisted Manchester. In the 1891 census he was aged 8, born Blackley, a scholar, son of John and Mary J Ingham, resident Hamer Hill, Blackley, Prestwich, Lancashire. Admitted to Blackley St Peter Church Of England School, Gorton, Manchester 2 March 1891. In the 1901 census he was aged 18, born Blackley, a Sanitary Plumber, son of John and Mary Ingham, resident 81, Chapel Lane, North Manchester, Prestwich, Lancashire. In the 1911 census he was aged 28, born Blackley, a Plumber, married to Alice Jones Ingham, resident 103, Slack Road Blackley, Manchester, North Manchester, Lancashire. Buried in BAC-DU-SUD BRITISH CEMETERY, BAILLEULVAL, Pas de Calais, France. Plot II. Row D. Grave 16.

Private 10411, "C" Company, 11 Platoon, "C" Company, 18th Battalion, Manchester Regiment. Killed in action 1 July 1916. Aged 24. Born Miles Platting, Manchester, enlisted Manchester. Baptised 27 July 1892 in Newton, St Augustine, Manchester, son of George William and Eliza Ingoe. Son of George William and Eliza Ingoe, of 11, Alfred Street, Harpurhey, Manchester. Attested 4 September 1914 in Manchester, aged 22 years 2 months, born Miles Platting, Manchester, a Clerk by trade, unmarried, height 5 feet 3½ inches, weight 106 lbs, chest 31½ inches, sallow complexion, hazel/grey eyes, dark hair, religious denomination Baptist/Congregationalist. Posted 14 September 1914, with B.E.F. in France 8 November 1915. Commemorated on the Roll of Honour for Hollins Mill Co Ltd. No known grave. Commemorated on THIEPVAL MEMORIAL, Somme, France. Pier and Face 13 A and 14 C.

Lance Corporal 34619, 11th Battalion, East Lancashire Regiment formerly 38700, The King's (Liverpool Regiment). Killed in action 5 September 1918. Aged 28. Born and enlisted Manchester. Son of G.P. and M. J. Irving, of 157, Moston Lane, Blackley, Manchester; husband of Ada Irving, of 68, Lee Rd., Harpurhey, Manchester. Brother of George (below). In the 1901 census he was aged 10, born Manchester, son of George P and Mary Jane Iriving, resident 12, Wadsworth Street, North Manchester, Prestwich, Lancashire. In the 1911 census he was aged 20, born Manchester, a Plaster, son of George Potter and Mary Jane Irving, resident 3 Farndon Avenue, Harpurhey, Manchester, North Manchester, Lancashire. No known grave. Commemorated on PLOEGSTEERT MEMORIAL, Hainaut, Belgium. Panel 5 and 6.

Private 46708, 1st/8th Battalion, Manchester Regiment. Killed in action 25 March 1918. Aged 22. Born and enlisted Manchester, resident Blackley, Manchester. Son of Mr. G. P. and Mrs. M. J. Irving, of 157, Moston Lane, Blackley, Manchester. Brother of Edward (above). In the 1901 census he was aged 4, born Manchester, son of George P and Mary Jane Iriving, resident 12, Wadsworth Street, North Manchester, Prestwich, Lancashire. In the 1911 census he was aged 14, born Manchester, an Errand Boy, son of George Potter and Mary Jane Irving, resident 3 Farndon Avenue, Harpurhey, Manchester, North Manchester, Lancashire. No known grave. Commemorated on ARRAS MEMORIAL, Pas de Calais, France. Bay 7.
