Lance-Sergt.
James Machin, former Scoutmaster of the Higher Blackley troop,
and an employe Messrs. Haworth's paper mills, Blackley, was wounded
on July 8, and died the following day. He was 25, and his parents
live at 29, Middleton Old Road, Higher Blackley. Machin's father,
aged 57, was wounded two months ago after 17 months' active service,
and was discharged in consequence.
