Son of Isaac Bargh Irving and S. Irving, of 155, Palatine Rd., Blackpool. No known grave. Commemorated on YPRES (MENIN GATE) MEMORIAL, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium. Panel 12.

IRVING John
Lance Corporal 3428, 13th Battalion, The King's (Liverpool Regiment). Killed in action 17 August 1916. Aged 18. Born Dornock, Dumfries, enlisted and resident Blackpool. Son of Georgina Irving, of 4, Poplar Street, Blackpool, and the late Peter Jackson Irving. Attested 30 November 1914 at Blackpool, aged 17, resident 4 Poplar Street, Blackpool, enlisted as Private 3428, 7th Battalion, Liverpool Regiment. Embarked France 16 July 1916. Height 5 feet 9 inches, chest 35½ inches, weight 133lbs. Electrician by trade. No known grave. Commemorated on THIEPVAL MEMORIAL, Somme, France. Pier and Face 1 D 8 B and 8 C.
