Mercantile Marine. Died 10 April 1917. Aged 30. Born at Walsall,
Staffs in 1886. Husband of Mrs. A. H. Oakley, of 40, Breck Rd.,
Blackpool. In the 1911 census he was a nephew, aged 24, unmarried,
born Wallsall, Staffordshire, a Midshipman in the Merchant Service,
resident with his uncle and aunt, Louis and Elizabeth Cohen, at
Tettenhall, Queens Drive, Norbreck, Bispham with Norbreck, Lancashire.

Butler Ogden (a Licensed Victualler) and Edith Mary Ogden, of 485,
Lytham Rd., Blackpool. In the 1901 census he was aged 5, born Oldham,
Lancashire, resident with his parents Thomas B and Edith M Ogden,
at 83, Moorhey Street, Oldham, Lancashire. Formerly Private PS/4171,
Royal Fusiliers. No known grave. Commemorated on YPRES (MENIN GATE)

Regiment). Killed in action in Mesopotamia 5 January 1917. Aged
24. Born Preston, Lancashire, enlisted Blackpool, Lancashire. Son
of Joseph and Betsy O'Hara, of 16, Bonny Street, Blackpool. Attested
5 September 1914 at Blackpool, as Private 13172, King's Own (Royal
Lancaster Regiment), aged 22 years 14 days, born Preston, a Labourer
by trade, single, transferred as 19429, South Lancashire Regiment
28 May 1915, height 5 feet 8 inches, weight 145 lbs, chest 35½
inches, fresh complexion, blue eyes, light brown hair, religious
denomination Church of England. Previously admitted to H.M. Hospital
Ship "Assaye" 21 September 1915 with rhuematsim, then
19 September 1915 admitted to hospital with rheuamtism as Gallipoli,
discharged 22 November 1915, embarked for Egypt at Malta 22 November
1915, emabrked Port Said for Mesopotamia 13 February 1916, disembarked
1 March 1916. Suffered from enterititis, admiited to hospital 18
April 1916, invalided to India from Basra aboard Hospital Ship Jakada
20 April 1916 and transferred to 19th General Hospital 6 June 1916.
Emabrked on Hospital Ship Elina at Bo,bay for Basra 3 August 1916,
embarked basra 10 August 1916, posted to "B" Company 2
October 1916. No known grave. Commemorated on BASRA MEMORIAL, Iraq.
