Reservist originally discharged and went to reserve, 21 June 1913 as Private 7664, No. 2 Company, 1st Battalion, The King's (Liverpool Regiment), aged 27 years 6 months, height 5 feet 9 inches, chest 40 inches, fresh complexion, brown eyes, brown hair, intended place of residence 87, Cocker St., Blackpool. Helmet size 21½ inches, boot size 8. Euphonium player in band for 12 years. Attended a Motor Driving course. Attested 22 June 1901 in Manchester, aged 15 years 6 months, born Manchester, height 4 feet 10 inches, weight 89lbs, chest 29½ inches, fresh complexion, brown eyes, brown hair, religious denomination Baptist. Son of Joseph and Sarah Ann Worsley (nee Barnett). Baptised 6 August 1893 in Pendlebury, Christ Church, Manchester. In the 1901 census he was aged 10, born Pendlebury, Lancashire, resident with his parents, Joseph and Sarah A Worsley, at 14, Bright Street, Blackpool, Fylde, Lancashire. In the 1911 census he was aged 20, born Pendlebury Lancashire, a Cotton broker, resident with his widowed father, Joseph Worsley (his wife died October 1910), at Kingsclere Promenade, Blackpool, Lancashire. In his capacity as Cotton broker he sailed from Liverpool to Boston, United States aboard the "Sagamore", aged 22, 2 September 1913. Buried in BANCOURT BRITISH CEMETERY, Pas de Calais, France.
