PREESALL WAR MEMORIAL

The memorial is located on Haakons Mound, B270 Lancaster Road, Preesall. It takes the form of a Latin cross in the form of a Crusader cross on a plinth which is raised on an artificial mound, with a stepped approach which has handrails on either side. A plaque is affixed to the plinth. A path leads to the steps. The memorial was unveiled 3 October 1920; G. Wallace Proffitt, designer; W.L. Cookson, builder.
