BARROW ON HUMBER AND BARROW HAVEN WAR MEMORIAL

There Barrow on Humber and Barrow Haven memorial stands in the gounds of Holy Trinity Church, Barrow on Humber. The memorial takes the form of a base surmounted by plinth, tapered shaft and Celtic cross with an inscription on the front face of the cross. A Celtic knotwork design, with sword on the centre of it, is carved on the front face of the cross. The memorial contains 38 names from World War 1 and 11 from World War 2. The original memorial was unveiled by Lieutenant-Colonel Harold Graham Wilson, and dedicated by the Bishop of Lincoln, 2nd July 1921. Details appeared in the Lincolnshire Star 9th July 1921.
