Two
lanterns stand in the High Street, which have the following inscriptions
on brass plaques:
ERECTED
BY THE PEOPLE OF CASTLE RISING
AS A MEMORIAL OF THE GREAT WAR 1914 - 1918.
ERECTED
BY THE PEOPLE OF CASTLE RISING
AS A MEMORIAL OF THE 2ND WORLD WAR 1939-1945.
There is a Roll of honour on the wall of St Lawrence's Church facing the
entrance. The memorial gives full name and Regiment:

Chilvers, of Castle Rising Lodge, South Wootton, King's Lynn, Norfolk.
No known grave. Copmmemorated on Pozieres Memorial, Somme, France.
