World War 1 - Roll of Honour with detailed information

This list is taken from photographs of the War Memorial taken by a professional photographer in March 2010. The few extra names which have been added are highlighted. Some details included have been taken from documents supplied (at considerable expense,) by the Norfolk Record Office. These were in rather spidery writing and very difficult to read. There were many problems with deciphering the information, but after all this time one can only do ones best.

IMPSON William
Private. 15677, 8th Battalion, Somerset Light Infantry 21st Division. Killed in action at Loos 25 September 1915. Aged 23. Son of Mr Impson and Mrs Mary Impson of 12, Swirles Place, Market Road, Great Yarmouth. Born in Norwich and enlisted in Sheffield Formerly with the Northumberland Fusiliers. No known grave. Commemorated on Loos Memorial.
INGRAM Benjamin Samuel
Deck Hand 492/DA, H.M. Trawler “ Okino”, Royal Naval Reserve. Hired drifter employed as a Minesweeper in the Dardanelles. Mined during operations off Izmir 8 March 1915 Ten men lost Five survivors. Son of Benjamin and Susannah Ingram of Great Yarmouth. Husband of Minnie Ingram of 47. King Street, Hull, Yorkshire. Aged 30. No known grave. Commemorated on Chatham Naval Memorial
IVES Arthur
Roll of Honour Private A Ives 14268 The Norfolk Regiment (Medal Rolls) No further information currently available in CWGC and SDGW.
IVES Arthur Walter
Private 19615, 7th Battalion, Norfolk Regiment. 12th Division Wounded on the Somme and died in Military Hospital at Netley 9 July 1916. Aged 31. Husband of Mrs Rose Ives of 68, Breydon Road, Cobholm Island, Great Yarmouth. Born and enlisted in Great Yarmouth. Buried in Netley Military Cemetery, Hampshire.

Great Yarmouth Roll of Honour Sergeant 4150, T W Ives, Norfolk Regiment. No further information currently available in CWGC Data Base.
