Little Plumstead is situated a few miles north east of Norwich, and north of the A47 Norwich to Yarmouth road. The War memorial is situated in the St Gervase and St Protase, Little Plumstead, churchyard. Names have been listed in alphabetical order for ease of research. Private 136103. 53rd Battalion Royal Fusiliers. Died on 17th April 1919. Aged 19. Son of Samuel and Minnie Bird, of Little Plumstead, Norwich. Buried in Little Plumstead (Ss. Gervasius And Protasius) Churchyard. West of Church.
BRISTER Arthur Frederick
Private 40998. 7th Battalion Northamptonshire Regiment. Formerly 51494 Bedfordshire Regiment. Killed in action in France & Flanders on 20th June 1918. Aged 18. Born Great Plumstead. Enlisted Norwich. Son of Samuel and Caroline Maria Brister, of Little Plumstead, Norwich. Buried in Bully-Grenay Communal Cemetery, British Extension, Pas de Calais, France. Ref. V. E. 7.
COLK Arthur Robert
[Not on SDGW] Private 37049. 1st Battalion The Queen's (Royal West Surrey Regiment). Died on 9th May 1918. Aged 28. Son of Arthur and Alice Colk, of Little Plumstead; husband of Eva Ellen Colk, of The Row, Scottow, Norwich. Buried in Little Plumstead (Ss. Gervasius And Protasius) Churchyard. South of Church. Private 3/6320. 1st Battalion Norfolk Regiment. Died of wounds in France & Flanders on 24th April 1915. Born St. Paul’s Norwich. Enlisted Norwich. Buried in Blauwepoort Farm Cemetery, Ieper, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium. Ref. B. 10.

Private 28176. 6th Battalion Bedfordshire Regiment. Killed in action in France & Flanders on 22nd May 1917. Aged 41. Born Witton, Norfolk. Lived Little Plumstead. Enlisted Norwich. Son of Philip and Anna Maria George, of Little Plumstead, Norwich. Commemorated in Tank Cemetery, Guemappe, Pas de Calais, France, on Special Memorial. Row A. Grave 46., buried near this spot.

POWLEY John aka Jack Frederick
Boy Telegraphist J/51372, H.M.S. Vanguard, Royal Navy. Died at sea by means other than disease, accident or enemy action, 9th July 1917. Aged 17. Born 6th June 1900 in Little Plumstead, Norfolk. Son of Charlotte E. Powley, of Horse Shoe Hotel, Wroxham, Norfolk. Admitted to Little Plumstead National/Church of England Voluntary Aided School 23rd May 1905, son of John Powley, left 21st September 1908. No known grave. Commemorated on Plymouth naval memorial, Devon. Panel 22.
POWLEY Walter Thomas
Private 5598. 3rd Battalion Coldstream Guards. Died of wounds in France & Flanders on 26th October 1914. Born Little Plumstead. Lived Windsor, Berkshire. Enlisted Norwich. No known grave. Commemorated on Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial, Ieper, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium. Panel 11.
SIMMONS Alfred John
Rifleman 46410. 2nd Battalion Rifle Brigade. Killed in action in France & Flanders on 25th April 1918. Born Blowfield, Norfolk. Lived Little Plumstead. Enlisted Wroxham. No known grave. Commemorated on Pozieres Memorial, Somme, France. Panel 81 to 84.

Son of Jonathan William and Susannah Stanford, of Little Plumstead, Norwich. Buried in Boulogne Eastern Cemetery, Pas de Calais, France. Plot III. Row B. Grave 14.
WEBB Bertie Victor
Private 23216. 7th Battalion Border Regiment. Formerly 16841 Norfolk Regiment. Died of wounds in France & Flanders on 19th February 1916. Aged 20. Born and lived Little Plumstead. Enlisted Norwich. Son of Robert Webb and Sarah (his wife), of Little Plumstead, Norwich. Buried in Lijssenthoek Military Cemetery, Poperinge, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium. Plot IV. Row D. Grave 10.

Private 5774011, 4th Battalion Royal Norfolk Regiment. Died as a Japanese Prisoner of War on 12th February 1944. Aged 26. In the 1939 Register he was born 30 October 1917, a Builder's Labourer, son of John Smith Everson and Blanche Bell Everson, unmarried, resident 6 Council Houses, Sandy Lane, Great Plumstead, Blofield and Flegg R.D., Norfolk. Buried in Yokohama War Cemetery, Japan. British Section. Plot L. Row A. Grave 14.
GUNTON William George
Sergeant 1466472, 302 Ferry Training Unit, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, Coastal Command. Killed in action based at Oban, Argyll, flying in a Consolidated Catalina IVB, serial number JX423, when the aircraft was lost without trace during a ferry flight from the United Kingdom to Gibraltar on 13th January 1945. Aged 23. Native of Little Plumstead, Norfolk. Son of William Herbert Gunton and Teresa Mary Gunton, of Little Plumstead, Norfolk. No known grave. Commemorated on Runnymede Memorial, Surrey. Panel 275.
