Private 19470, 2nd Battalion, Norfolk Regiment. Killed in action 22nd April 1916 in Mesopotamia. Born 20th August 1896 at The Fen, Hilgay, Norfolk, enlisted Norwich. Son of John William Bettles & Rebecca Bettles (nee Lavender). Commemorated on Mary Clingo's (nee Bettles) gravestone in Nordelph graveyard - see also John Clingo below. Commemorated on BASRA MEMORIAL, Iraq. Panel 10.

Son of John Clingo of bedford bank, Nordelph; husband of Mabel Clingo (nee Raynjer). Formerly Private 5242, 3rd/5th Battalion, Norfolk Regiment. Commemorated on Mary Clingo's (nee Bettles) gravestone in Nordelph graveyard - see also John Bettles above. Commemorated on TYNE COT MEMORIAL, Zonnebeke, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium. Private 201928, 2nd/5th Battalion, Prince of Wales's Own (West Yorkshire Regiment). Killed in action 24th February 1917 in France & Flanders. Born Nordelph, enlisted Grimsby, resident Stepney, London. Commemorated on THIEPVAL MEMORIAL, Somme, France. Pier and Face 2 A 2 C and 2 D.

FULLER Edward James

Private 20463, 1st Battalion, Essex Regiment. Died at Gallipoli 6th August 1915. Born 16 May 1886, West Dereham, enlisted Norwich, resident Nordelph. Son of John & Sarah Ann Wright Fuller; husband of Kate (nee Watson) Fuller and father of of Phyllis, Evelyn and John Edward Kitchener Fuller. Formerly 16710, Norfolk Regiment. Possiibly buried in TWELVE TREE COPSE CEMETERY, Turkey but commemorated on Special Memorial C 349.

Acting Bombardier 101399, 230th Siege Battery, Royal Garrison Artillery. Killed in action 2nd August 1917. Aged 29. Born Nordelph, enlisted Norwich. Son of Thomas and Elizabeth Hales, of Nordelph; husband of Kate Hales, of High St., Nordelph, Downham, Norfolk. Buried in PERTH CEMETERY (CHINA WALL), Ieper, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium.
