Twyford
is a village south east of Fakenham on the A1067, the Norwich to Fakenham
road. The Roll of Honour is to be found in the parish church of St Nicholas.
It lists one man who gave his life and twenty men who serveed and returned.
The Roll of Honour is in the form of a wooden plaque with illuminated,
hand painted inscription. The names here have been sorted into alphabetical
order by section for ease of reading and research.

Regiment. Killed in action at the Battle of Loos 13th October 1915.
Aged 28. Born Harleston, enlisted Norwich. Son of Robert and Elizabeth
Barnes, of Twyford, Norfolk. No known grave. Commemorated on Loos
Memorial, Pas de Calais, France. Panel 30 and 31.

October 1914; went with the Expeditionary Force to France 18 October
1914 to 22 October 1918. Entitled to 1914 Star, British War Medal
and Victory Medal. Next of kin Mrs C Farrow, Chap Lodge, Twyford,
East Dereham. Married Mary Emma Rackham.
