From Andy Pay's research into the Marquis de Ruvigny's Roll of Honour the following: Volume 2, Part 4, Page 156 - PHILLIPS, Cecil Charles - Private, No 204003, 5th (Territorial) Battalion, The Bedfordshire Regiment Son of John Phillips, by his wife, Emma; educated Park School, Wellingborough, co.Northampton; was a foreman in the boot trade; enlisted 19th Jan,1917; served with The Expeditionary Force in France and Flanders from 3rd May, and was killed in action at Kemmel, 25th Sept following. Buried on the outskirts of Shrewsbury Forest. He married at Wellingborough on 18th Oct,1912, Alice Jane, (41 Glen Bank, Wellingborough), dau. of Robert Groom, and had a son, Raymond Cecil; born 11th Sept, 1913. |
