BARCROFT Richard Neilson

Flight Sergeant/Wireless operator, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve No 104 Bomber Squadron Wellington Mk.11 W5485 EP-J Based at Driffield. Shot down during a raid on Karlsruhe 6 August 1941 Crew of six all died in the crash. Buried in Durnbach War Cemetery.

BARRICK Norman [Alfred]
Driver, Royal Engineers. BEF France. Lost when the SS “Lancastria” was bombed and sunk off St. Nazaire on the 17 June 1940. Aged 21. His body was washed ashore later and buried in the local French Cemetery. Estimates vary between 3,300-5,000 for those lost in the disaster. Buried in Prefailles Communal Cemetery France
BASSETT Frederick John
Ordinary Telegraphist P/JX 191043, H.M. Trawler Notts County, Royal Navy. Torpedoed by a U-Boat South of Iceland 8 March 1942. Aged 24. There were no survivors. Son of Emily Annie Bassett, of Wellingborough, Northamptonshire. No known grave. Commemorated on PORTSMOUTH NAVAL MEMORIAL, United Kingdom. Panel 67, Column 1.
