WHO FELL IN THE GREAT WAR
1914-1919
| EMERY | John P | Private
7519, 1st Battalion, North Staffordshire Regiment. Went missing
presumed dead 21 March 1918. Aged 33. Husband of Mary Ann, of
9, Heaton Terrace, Porthill, Stoke-on-Trent. Served from the outbreak
of the war. No known grave. Commemorated on Pozieres Memorial,
Somme, France. Panel 67 and 68. |

5393, 4th (Queen's Own) Hussars. Killed 5 November 1914. Aged
30. Son of the late William and Francis Gibson, of 58, Rathbone
Street, Tunstall, Stoke-on-Trent; husband of Catharine Gibson,
of 8, York Street, Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent, (local press state
13, Reid Street, Dalehill, Burslem); they had three young children.
No known grave. Commemorated on Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial, West-Vlaanderen,
Belgium. Panel 5. |
| HUTCHINSON | Albert | Gunner
191646, 409th Battery, 96th Brigade, Royal Field Artillery. Died
from his wounds 2 August 1918. Resident and enlisted Burslem Staffordshire.
Husband of Betsy Hutchinson, of 3, Mellor Street (now Kelsall
Street), Burslem. Enlisted in October 1916. In the 1911 census
he was aged 29, born Brownhills, near Walsall, Staffordshire,
a Postman, married to Betsy Hutchinson with one daughter, resident
3 Mellor St Burslem Staff, Burslem, Staffordshire. Buried in Abeele
Aerodrome Military Cemetery, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium. Plot II.
