In Cotton war memorial can be found in the grounds of St Andrew's Church, Cotton. It takes the form of an ornate cross on a thick, tapering shaft monuted on a pedestal with a three stepped base with a low metal fence surrounding it. There are 13 names listed for World War 1 and one for World War 2. The memorial was unveiled 7 December 1919 by Lieut-Colonel F W Turner, the builders were Hanchets. Details of the memorial appeared in the Bury Free Press 13 December 1919.

ALEXANDER
John
Private 23837 John Alexander was born in Cotton c1894. He enlisted in the 8th Suffolk Regiment in Eye. He served in France & Flanders and was killed in action on 6th March 1917 aged 23. He is remembered on the Thiepval Memorial Pier & Face 1C & 2A and on the Cotton War Memorial. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. W. Alexander, of 4, Town Villas, Cotton.
CARTER
Henry
Private G/42233 Henry Carter was born in Finningham. He enlisted in the 4th Royal Fusiliers in Eye. He served in France & Flanders and was killed in action on 18th September 1918. He is remembered on the Vis-En-Artois Memorial Panel 3 and on the Cotton War Memorial. He was a resident of Mendlesham.
CHILVERS
Leonard Melville
Private 34008 Leonard Melville Chilvers was born in Cotton c1898. He enlisted in the 8th East Surrey Regiment in Bury St Edmunds. He served in France & Flanders and died of wounds on 13th October 1917 aged 19. He is buried at Dozinghem Military Cemetery Grave X. F. 23 and is remembered on the Cotton War Memorial. He was the son of Isaac and Lucy Clara Chilvers, of Cotton. See also Liverpool Street Station, London
CUTHBERT
William Frederick
Private 21121 William Frederick Cuthbert was born in Bacton. He enlisted in the 11th Essex Regiment in Colchester. He served in France & Flanders and was killed in action on 21st March 1918. He is remembered on the Arras Memorial Bay 7 and on the Cotton War Memorial. He was a resident of Colchester.
FINBOW
Henry
Private 3\9966 Henry Finbow was born in Cotton. He enlisted in the 2nd Suffolk Regiment in Bury St Edmunds. He served in France & Flanders and died on 28th June 1915. He is buried at Bailleul Communal Cemetery Extension (Nord) Grave I. D. 59 and is remembered on the Cotton War Memorial.
HALES
Charles
Private 20021 Charles Hales was born in Cotton c1893. He enlisted in the 2nd Suffolk Regiment in Stowmarket. He served in Salonika and was killed in action on 18th September 1918 aged 25. He is buried at Doiran Military Cemetery IV. B. 34 and is remembered on the Cotton War Memorial. He was the son of Robert Hales, of Hill House, Cotton, and the late Elizabeth Hales.

David
Private 41827 David Hales was born in Cotton. He originally enlisted as 20480 in the Suffolks in Bury St Edmunds, later transferring to the 4th Suffolk Regiment. He served in France & Flanders and was killed in action on 22nd September 1918. He is remembered on the Vis-En-Artois Memorial Panel 4 and on the Cotton War Memorial.

Edward
Private 38721 Edward Hales was born in Cotton. He enlisted in the 17th Manchester Regiment in Oldham. He served in France & Flanders and was killed in action on 22nd March 1918. He is buried at Savy British Cemetery Grave I. H. 28 and is remembered on the Cotton War Memorial. He was a resident of Bacton.

Herbert Edward
Private 48187 Herbert Edward Hales was born in Cotton. He enlisted in the 4th Royal Fusiliers Regiment in Stowmarket. He served in France & Flanders and died of wounds on 5th May 1917. He is buried at Faubourg D'Amiens Cemetery, Arras Grave IV. G. 4 and is remembered on the Cotton War Memorial. He was a resident of Cotton.

Walter Charles
Private 40487 Walter Charles Hart was born in Cotton. He originally enlisted as 4103 in the Suffolks in Eye, later transferring to the 8th Suffolk Regiment. He served in France & Flanders and was killed in action on 4th May 1917. He is remembered on the Arras Memorial Bay 4 and on the Cotton War Memorial.
MOSS
John
Private G/13257 John Moss was born in Cotton c1895. He enlisted in the 6th The Queen's Royal West Surrey Regiment in Bury St Edmunds. He served in France & Flanders and was killed in action on 28th March 1918 aged 22. He is remembered on the Pozieres Memorial Panel 14 & 15 and on the Cotton War Memorial. He was the son of Mrs. Mary Ann Moss, of Station Road, Cotton.
MUTIMER
Ernest William
Private 20312 Ernest William Mutimer was born in Mendlesham. He enlisted in the 2nd Suffolk Regiment in Stowmarket. He served in France & Flanders and was killed in action on 2nd March 1916. He is remembered on the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial Panel 21 and on the Cotton War Memorial.
REEVE
Robert Joseph
Sergeant 24391 Robert Joseph Reeve was born in Cotton 18th October 1888. He enlisted in the Canadian Expeditionary Force 13th Royal Highlanders in Valcartier Canada on 23rd September 1914. He served in France & Flanders and was killed on 8th September 1916 aged 27. He is buried at Contay British Cemetery, Contay Grave I. B. 19 and is remembered on the Cotton War Memorial.
