Compiled and copyright © Chris Clarke 2014

In Elmswell parish church there is a Roll of Honour board containing the names of those who went to war and returned and those who made the ultimate sacrifice. It is in the form of a triptych and has two hinged panels that turn into the main middle section. The whole is made from wood. The left panel has two columns of names listing those who served in World War 1, the centre section lists the men who gave their lives in World War 1 and the left panel has two columns, the first contains the remaining names of those who served and returned in World War 1 and the second colmn contains the names who died in the Second World War. Listed are 118 names of those who served and returned, and 29 who died in World War 1; there are 10 names listed of those who died in World War 2. There was also a memorial hall but this was demolished in 1992. The names of those who served and returned are not listed here.
