Grave I. B. 16 and is remembered on the Finningham War Memorial.
He was the son of William and Anna Bailey, of Swiss Cottage, School
Street, Stoke-by-Nayland, Colchester. |

and is remembered on the Finningham War Memorial. He was a resident

Regiment). In the 1901 census Arthur Warne lived on Back Street,
Gislingham. He was a widower with his children Frederick (14), Blanche
(12), William (11), and the housekeeper, Emma Garling (or Girling).
In 1911, aged 21, William was living at Old Manston Lane, Crossgates,
Austhorpe, Yorkshire, near Leeds, born Gislingham neae Eye, Suffolk,
a cowman on a farm. He had married Emily Plummer (or Preimmer or
Primear or Primner) Prince 30 May 1909 at Burmantofts, St Agnes
and St Stephen, Yorkshire, at which time he was a Railway Porter,
and they had a son, George Edward, aged 1. Over the next few years
they were to have three more children – Blanche M. (1911),
William A. (1913), Lily (1915) and Doris (1918). William died on
service in Hautmont field hospital 29 September 1918 due to an accident
