The
Haughley war memorial is to be found in the grounds of The Assumption
of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, Duke Street, Haughley, Suffolk. It
takes the form of a Greek cross on a stepped base with a metal cross
superimposed on the stone cross. The memorial was made by Messrs Benfield
& Loxley, J Crowe and was unveiled by Brigadier General Massy Lloyd
9 March 1920. Their are 31 names for World War 1 and 10 names for World
War 2. One side of the memorial has decayed and collapsed; this might
have carried further World War 2 names.
