UPSON Charles [William Henry]
Private 8176, 2nd Battalion, Norfolk Regiment. Died from dysentery at Borak, Mesopotamia 4 July 1916. Born Lowestoft circa 1892, enlisted Norwich, Norfolk. A Bricklayer's Labourer before enlisting. Attested at Norwich 29 March 1910, height 5 feet 8½ inches, weight 141 lbs, chest 36 inches, fresh complexion, grey eyes, brown hair, religious denomination Church of England. Son of William Upson, of 17 Stephen Street, Lowestoft. Buried in BAGHDAD (NORTH GATE) WAR CEMETERY, Iraq. Plot VI. Row H. Grave 7. See also Lowestoft St Margaret's
