DEATH
OF A FORMER "CHRONICLE" REPORTER.
The
father of Pte. Hugh Kendall, late member of the “Chronicle”
reporting staff, received the news, we regret to say, yesterday
of his death, in the fight, we presume, to which Lieut.-Colonel
Langham Alludes. He was in the 5th Sussex.
Pte.
Kendall's letters from the Front frequently appeared in the “Chronicle,”
and the sad loss of such a bright young life is a matter of the
deepest regret, though he gave it up freely for his country.
