Fernhurst is a village situated midway between Midhurst & Haslemere, Surrey on the A 286. The Fernhurst Parish Church War Memorial for 1914-191 lists 42 names on a plaque inside the Parish Church. There is also a Memorial cross in the Churchyard, which additionally lists the Regiment, Battalion and other units.

Rifleman 453117, 1/11th Battalion, London Regiment (The Finsbury Rifles). 60th London Division. E.E.F. Killed in action in Palestine 19th April 1917. Enlisted in London. Buried in Gaza War Cemetery, Palestine.
